What To Expect At Your LADC Evaluation

Published: 2024-02-05

Most people who call me about a LADC evaluation have never had one. They’re already in a stressful situation, usually a court case or a DUI, and now they have to sit down with someone they’ve never met and talk about their relationship with alcohol or substances. I understand that’s not comfortable.

My goal is to make it as straightforward and low-pressure as possible.

The evaluation involves a structured interview along with a set of diagnostic screening tools. I’ll ask about your history with substances, your mental health background, your family situation, and what your life looks like right now. That combination of information is what gives the written report its clinical weight and makes it useful to the people who need to read it.

This isn’t about finding something to hold against you. It’s about putting together an accurate and fair picture.

When it’s finished, I provide a written report with my findings and, where appropriate, recommendations. That goes to whoever requested it, your attorney, the court, or probation.

I work with people across Southern NH, including Manchester, Nashua, Bedford, Concord, and Londonderry. Virtual appointments are available if coming in isn’t possible.
