Relapse Is Part of the Process — Not the End of It
One of the harder conversations I have is the one right after a relapse. People come in expecting me to be disappointed. Most of them are already convinced they failed. That’s not how I see it.
Relapse is common, and it doesn’t mean the work you’ve done doesn’t count. Anyone who has spent real time in this field understands that recovery is rarely a straight road. The brain takes time to relearn, and setbacks happen to people who are genuinely trying.
What matters most is what comes next.
I’ve worked with people from Manchester, Nashua, Bedford, and Derry who have slipped more than once before finding a stretch of recovery that really held. Each time taught us something useful, about what was missing, what we needed to adjust, what support hadn’t been in place yet.
If you’re somewhere in Southern NH and you’ve had a setback, or you feel like one is coming, please reach out. You don’t have to sort it out alone, and there’s no judgment here.
