Got a DUI in NH? Here Is What the LADC Evaluation Is For
If you’ve been charged with a DUI in New Hampshire, whether that’s in Hillsborough County, Rockingham County, or Merrimack County, a LADC evaluation is likely going to come up at some point in the process.
The evaluation isn’t something to dread. It’s a clinical assessment, not a punishment. The court uses it to better understand the situation and make informed decisions. My job as the evaluator is to give an honest, thorough picture based on the interview and the screening tools, not to argue for any particular outcome.
One thing a lot of people don’t know is that getting the evaluation done before your court date can genuinely help your case. Defense attorneys across NH recommend this regularly as part of a plea strategy. When you show up to court having already completed the evaluation and, if it was recommended, started any treatment, it demonstrates that you’re taking responsibility. Judges notice that.
I’ve worked with clients from Nashua, Manchester, Bedford, Derry, Salem, and Londonderry through this process. I know what the courts here expect and how to write a report that is useful to your attorney.
If you have questions before you’re ready to schedule, please call me directly. That’s what I’m here for.
