Alcohol Is the Easiest Thing to Overlook
A lot of people I talk to don’t think of themselves as having a drinking problem. They’re holding things together. They have a job, they’re showing up for their families. They just pour a glass at the end of the day because it helps them unwind.
That’s a really normal thing to feel. Alcohol is woven into everyday life across Southern NH, and it can be genuinely hard to notice when a habit becomes something more.
I’m not here to put a label on anyone. What I do notice, after years in this work, is that a lot of people end up in my office for one reason and eventually realize that their relationship with alcohol is connected to it. Anxiety that won’t settle. Sleep that’s never quite restful. A DUI that came out of nowhere.
If you’ve been quietly wondering whether your drinking is something worth looking at, that wondering is worth paying attention to. It doesn’t mean you have a problem. It just means the question deserves a real answer, and sometimes that’s easier to find with another person in the room.
I’m happy to have that conversation with no pressure and no judgment.
